“Dr. Jeff Block has served our department as a voluntary Professor since 2007.
He attended Emory University as an undergraduate majoring in chemistry before advancing to medical school at the University of Miami where he remained for his anesthesia residency before completing a Fellowship in Pain Management right here in 1987.

Dr. Block is also a highly awarded botanist and certified Master Gardener through the University of Florida’s “Institute of Food and Agricultural Services” and he serves the University of Florida on the advisory committee for Florida’s legislated “Hemp Pilot Project”.

In 2014, Dr. Block served the Florida Medical Association by authoring the State’s mandated physician education concerning Cannabis published by the Florida Department of Health; and in 2015 he was appointed by Florida’s Surgeon General to determine the supporting rules to our State’s first cannabis law. He originally presented Grand Rounds to us back in 2017 and returns this morning to address us. Since 2020, Dr. Block has authored three textbook chapters on this particularly complicated healthcare subject!”
